Engineering: Building Bridges

Engineering: Building Bridges

Engineers Week is coming soon.  In our class we are going to learn lots about engineers and the job they do in our locality.

Today we had a look at the building of bridges.

We read a really interesting book that showed lots and lots of different kinds of bridges.

Then we made our own paper bridges and we tested to see which was the strongest kind (which could hold the most cars without collapsing).

We decided that bridges with arches or bridges with corrugated paper (like cardboard) were strongest.
