We know that all tigers have their own individual stripes and giraffes have their own individual spots.
Did you know that each of us has our own individual fingerprints?
Today Ms. Crotty's 2nd class joined Ms. McLoughlin's junior infant class to check out our fingerprints.
We drew a black pencil smudge onto a white page, then rubbed a finger in this smudge.
Then we pressed our dirty finger onto some clear tape and then stuck this fingerprint onto a clear piece of white paper.
We could see our fingerprints clearly, especially when we used a magnifying glass.
We could find loops, splits, cusps arches, loops, whorls and ridges.
At home we are going to investigate if each finger has a different print or if they are all the same.
