We could make our own cloud.....in a bottle!
The air in the bottle is at the same pressure as the air outside the bottle.
To make a cloud you need a very small amount of water in the bottle.
Now, here's the tricky part....an adult has to light a match and drop it into the bottle. We can put the lid back on really quickly.
The air in the bottle looks normal (transparent) but if we squeeze the bottle a few times then we can make a cloud.
The dust particles from the smoking match help us to see the cloud.
When we squeeze the bottle we create an area of high pressure in the bottle and the air in the bottle becomes warmer.
Then when we stop squeezing the pressure inside the bottle lowers, the temperature drops, and a cloud forms.
We tried predicting what would happen when we open the lid of the bottle (the cloud escaped). When we popped the lid on again and squeezed the bottle again, we made a new cloud. What a fun demonstration!
