Our class is involved in this years Incredible Edible programme.
We sowed lots of seeds today.

Each of us has our own seed pot and we could choose to plant beans, carrots, lettuce, radishes, turnips or onions.
Our class planted a pot of potatoes and onions and a pot of strawberries. We are very much looking forward to when they grow later on this year.
While we were planting seeds we tried a couple of investigations too.
One investigation was to see whether seeds grow better in a greenhouse than in the open. We made our own greenhouses from plastic cups. We are watching them closely.
Another investigation was to see what exactly do the seeds need to grow. Do they need air? water? light? soil? We planted seeds in 5 cups. Only one cup has each of these things we need. One cups has no air (covered in cling film), one has no water, one has no light (in the cupboard), one has no soil. We are observing each of these cups. We predict that none of these four cups will have healthy seeds.
Keep an eye on our photos as we update each week.
