For our STEM activity this week we decided to make snowball poppers.
We made snowmen that can shoot snowballs (pom poms).
For this we needed...a paper cup, a balloon, a piece of white paper, sticky tape and masking tape.
We covered the paper cup with a sheet of white paper (because teacher couldn't find white paper cups). We cut the bottom off the cup, and the bottom off the baloon. We tied a knot in the balloon and then put it over the base of the cup.
We enjoyed decorating our snowmen, and we particularly enjoyed shooting pom poms (snowballs) from our poppers.
We noticed that bigger snowballs did not fly too far while smaller snowballs flew much further. We think this is because the larger snowballs are heavier, and that it takes more energy to make them fly in the air!
Some of our snowmen were even able to shoot snowballs upside down!
