We had a super day today. We were awarded with the prestigious all Ireland Ocean Champions Award.
Many thanks to guests Mr. Mick Gillooly and Ms. Sheila Byrnes from the Marine Institute and Explorers Education, to Ms. Cushla Dromgool-Regan and Mr. Bernard Kirk from Camden Trust and to Dr. Noirín Burke from the Galway Atlantaquarium who came to present us with the award. We are SO proud!
Our celebrations included all sorts of marine costumes (sea creatures, mermaids, pirates and fishermen), lots of gorgeous pictures, flags and marine artwork, short speeches, songs and dances about the ocean, a lovely story and some great ocean boxes.
We had a wonderful opportunity to spread our imporant message of saving our oceans to our visitors, to our parents and to all students in our school.
A huge Congratulations is due to all the students, teachers and SNAs who worked so hard, and are continuing to work so hard with our Looking After Our Oceans project!
Maith Sibh Go Léir!
Look at us on the paper!
