We were so lucky to have had the most amazing visit today from American astronaut Steve Swanson.
He arrived in our school this afternoon for a wonderful chat with all our 1st and 2nd class students and our teachers.
He was lovely. He arrived with Rob and Danielle from Blackrock Castle to help launch our Space Week 2024.
We decorated our hall with pictures, drawings and models made by our students.
Steve talked to us about his life as an astronaut, about his trips on the international space station and about space walking.
He answered our many questions, listened to our song, admired our pictures and models and took photos with us.
We feel so lucky to have met such a wonderful real-life astronaut.
Some of us would like to be an astronaut too. We are going to work hard and you'd never know. One of us might be the very first person to visit Mars (Steve's favourite planet!)
Thanks SO much to Steve, to Rob and Danielle and to Space Week Ireland for SUCH an inspiring visit.
