Teacher found lots of little ask saplings in her garden at home.
She brought them in to school and we each planted a sapling of our own.
When our ash trees grow very very tall we can cut the wood to make some hurleys so we can play hurling or camogie.
Our saplings will have to be transplanted into larger pots or into our gardens. Ash trees can grow very tall so be sure to leave lots of space for them.
In the spring ash trees have lovely little black buds. We'll keep an eye out for these buds next spring.
