We had a challenge: to see how far we could fly a foam rocket.
We got to choose which sized rocket we would like to use (10cm, 13cm, 20cm, 25cm or 30cm), how far we would stretch the elastic and what angle we would launch the projectile.
We used a trundle wheel to measure how far it flew, and we kept an account of the distance flown.
It was a lot of fun.
We learned that a projectile launched from 90 degrees will fly highest but not travel far.
A projectile launched between 40 and 60 degrees flies furthest, regardless of the size of the projectile.
