We made paper helicopters today, and investigated the answers to lots of interesting questions:
- What things in nature use helicopters wings?
- Which way do our helicopters spin, clockwise or anticlockwise?
- How can we change the direction of spin?
- Does the size matter to the speed in which the helicopter falls/the number of rotations the helicopter makes before it falls?
- Does the kind of paper/card/newspaper to the speed in which the helicopter falls/the number of rotations the helicopter makes before it falls?
- Does the colour of the paper/card/newspaper to the speed in which the helicopter falls/the number of rotations the helicopter makes before it falls?
We were able to answer these questions (and many more) by flying our helicopters and comparing them to other helicopters being flown.
