Investigating Transparency and the Colours of Light

We have been looking at different objects to try and figure out which objects are opaque, which are translucent and which are transparent.

We were able to sort pictures of objects into these categories.

We really enjoyed investigating mixing the colours of light.

Each time we predicted what colour we would get, and then we tried it out with Quality Street sweet wrappers, with colour paddles and with spinning tops.

We also used coloured spinners (some of which we made ourselves), a motor, a battery and two wires.

We tried mixing two primary colours, all 7 colours of the spectrum, and the colours on our own individually designed spinners.

The results were very impressive!  Mesmerizing!
