We visited Ballybane library today where Eileen and her team of lovely librarians showed us around the library and introduced us to the Summer Stars reading challenge.
We can sign up (for free) with the help of our parents or any adult. By signing up we get lots of free goodies – a reading card, a pencil, stickers, bubbles, a pencil grip, a re-useable bag. We can then read any amount of books over the summer and if we do well in the challenge we can also get a certificate. It sounds like a lot of fun!
Today we also saw the beautifully painted windows of the library. The paintings show the animals, minibeasts, birds and flowers of Merlin Woods. We will look out for all of these in the woods during the holidays.
Thank you so much to all who work in Ballybane Library. We hope to see a lot of you over the summer holidays!
