We want to grow our own seeds, but the weather is turning colder.
Plants grow very well in winter in greenhouses, so today we made our own greenhouses.
First we chose two plastic cups. We feel that these will keep the water and heat in, but are also transparent and waterproof which we feel is necessary for a greenhouse.
We filled one cup with soil, put some seeds (cress and sunflower) into the soil and then watered the seeds.
We joined the two cups together using tape.
We placed our greenhouses on the windowsill in our classroom.
We are going to keep a close eye on our plants. We are looking forward to seeing our seeds grow.
We don’t think we will need to water our seeds, because the water in the soil may evaporate, but it will condense against the roof of the greenhouse, and then drops of water will fall like rain down on our seeds again. We shall see……………

Here’s what the seeds in our greenhouses look like now.
Surviving, we never need to water them. We are so impressed!

Our plants are too big for their green houses. They can grow without covers now, even in our cool weather.
