We made UV bracelets in school today. The beads were all white when we put them on our colourful pipe cleaners, but when we brought the bracelets outside all the beads changed different colours. That was really exciting!
Teacher explained that the beads react to the UV light from the sun (this is the light that makes us get sunburnt too, so if our beads are changing colour then maybe it is safer to wear sunscreen outside on these days).
Our bracelets also glow in the dark. We can’t wait to see if this works tonight!
