We are really enjoying hearing about the Chinese New Year (1st February this year, Year of the Tiger).
We know the story of the Willow Pattern, we have seen a willow pattern plate and we have painted our own plates.
“Two birds flying high,
a Chinese vessel sailing by,
a bridge with three men sometimes more,
a willow tree hanging over,
a Chinese temple there it stands,
built upon the river sands,
an apple tree with apples on,
a crooked fence to end my song.”
We saw a house coat and a Chinese hat that the children in China might wear!
